WSRS 2016 Workshop
14th - 17th October Snetisham Norfolk

20 members attended the WSRS workshop based at Hunstanton.
This time the weather was much kinder to us, than our workshop in Febuary, with light winds and little rain.

Early morning – WSRS members spaced themselves out along Snettisham beach a couple of hours before high tide, then they sit and waited for the birds to be pushed in by the rising water.

As a complete beginner, this was my first WSRS field meeting. On the Sunday morning I stumbled upon this yellow-browed warbler calling from willows alongside the path just behind visitor centre. Unfortunately, proximity to the A149 meant that traffic noise was a problem, even at 7 o’clock in the morning! Blackbird, Cetti’s warbler, moorhen, robin and wren in the background. Recorded on an Olympus LS-100 with the society’s Telinga parabolic reflector. Bill Parker
NB: I have applied a 500Kz High pass filter to this recording to remove a very distracting plane. Web Officer.
