Welcome, WSRS member!
We hope that you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read on the blog so far and we are delighted that you’re interested in contributing. The WSRS Blog was set up so that members could share their experiences of sound recording trips, new equipment, attendance on WSRS field meetings and workshops – in fact, anything connected to wildlife sound recording.
Alongside the blog, our other publications are the Sound Magazine and the journal, Wildlife Sound. The Sound Magazine is a CD that is delivered to members, encompassing members’ recordings and Sound Magazine Editor’s interviews. The journal contains longer articles on some of the same topics described above, and is delivered at regular intervals across the year. The blog is designed to be a bit more bite-sized and can reach our audience a bit sooner. Try to keep your piece to a maximum of 500 words – 300 is plenty – with up to four photos and four, small sound files. Short and sweet means you’re likely to get more readers/listeners! If you’d like to expand on your piece, we’d love you to write it into a longer article for the journal!
All you need to do now is drop us a line at WSRS Media and we’ll send you instructions on registering. You may wish to write under your real name or use a nom de plume – it’s up to you.
